Where can I buy the game?

It is not available to the public yet, but when it is, it will only available on Steam so make sure you have a Steam account in order to play Gaia!

What platforms is the game available on?

The pre-alpha version of the game has only ever been tested on Windows 10. However, you can be sure that the first alpha version will be available on Mac and Linux. No other platforms, such as xbox, are planned.

When is the next version coming out?

We can’t say when exactly because that will just add stress to the development process, which in turn would cause problems and potentially unfinished content, something we are very much against. Every version of the game will come out as soon as possible and as soon as it’s finished.

What features will be added in the future?

The front page of this website, as well as Facebook’s page will contain this information from one alpha to the next. However, no long term planning can be done because development practices change all the time and with very good reason. The community will decide which features they want to see most from one alpha to the next. We don’t want to stress our players with promises that might not be fulfilled!

I am a writer/video maker. Can I have a free copy of the game?

It depends on your status. You have to understand we can’t hand out keys to anyone with a youtube channel for example. Here is some criteria: If you’re a youtuber, you have to have at least 1000+ views per video. If you’re a Twitch streamer, you should have at least 50 viewers watching you play at any time. If you’re from the press, then you get a free copy until alpha versions come out, at which point this criteria will change a bit. Please contact us as any request will be treated individually. Since the game is currently in pre-alpha, these criteria might not be as harsh.

Can I monetize videos of Gaia?

Yes, anyone can monetize videos of Gaia gameplay.

What program did you use to make Gaia?

Gaia is being written with Unity 3D using c# as the programming language. I also used Photoshop, Monodevelop, Openshot Editor and Blender.

I want to help with testing before Gaia gets released on Steam.

Anyone who wants to help with testing will receive a free steam key. Please use the contact page for such a request or post on the forums. Because it is a steam key, you will have access to all the future versions of the game until the closed Beta period is over.  However, if your contribution is exceptional, you will receive a free, retail key for the full version of the game. More info about testing in the ‘Bugs’ forum.

How can I contact you?

Use the contact button at the top of the page. You can also find me on Facebook.

I have other questions?

Please post on the forums or contact me! I’ll always reply within 1-2 days, any day of the week. You can also post questions on the official Gaia page on Facebook or the Steam community page.
